World Blockchain Summit arrives at the hottest ICO destination – Singapore.
On a global tour, the summit is aiming to disrupt the APAC market through its comprehensive agenda.
Date, Singapore: Singapore is now the third-biggest market for token sales and has always been a venue for most of the largest technology summits in the world. Now, the city-state gets ready to welcome Trescon’s World Blockchain Summit to host the global blockchain community under one roof. It is taking place on 17-18 July at the luxurious Marina Bay Sands Resort, Singapore.
World Blockchain Summit series attracts over 20,000 attendees across 10+ countries around the globe, and it has seen numerous business deals, such as the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh signing a MoU with VISA to transform the city of Vizag into a cashless city. Also, US based startup ObEN raised US$ 30 million, and Bosnian cryptocurrency provider DebitCoin sold tokens worth US$ 5 million on the spot, to name a few.
The Singapore edition is supported by ACCESS, the Association of Cryptocurrency Enterprises and Startups Singapore, that has been established to develop and research blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, to help reshape the financial and commercial landscape of Singapore city. This partnership will help attendees get connected to the right industry experts for commercial and strategic development in the blockchain space.
Although the summit serves a platform for a global audience, this edition’s primary agenda is to also help the blockchain economy within Singapore, by bridging them to potential investors and venture capitalists. One such Singapore based international investment firm ‘Life.SREDA VC Asia’, has partnered with the summit to be an exclusive jury member on the pitch competition panel, with a potential US$ 1 million investment prize up for grabs.
In an interview leading up to the summit, Mohammed Saleem, CEO of Trescon, said that “The nation of Singapore has always been a technology hub in the entire APAC region. Their prowess to embrace futuristic technologies is displayed through their state-of-the-art infrastructure and technological landscape. Blockchain has a bright future in South East Asia, and the journey will begin in Singapore with the help of Trescon”, when asked about the decision to hold the summit in the ‘Land of Lions’.
The global summit will play host to blockchain experts and thought leaders, who will be dissecting multiple applications of blockchain technology within the public and private sectors, in a series of panel discussion and tech-talks. Some of the influential speakers set to take the stage are Alex Medana, Co-Founder and CEO of FinFabrik, Hong Kong; Anson Zeall, Chairman of the Board for ACCESS; and Heng Soon Pang, Head of Investments for the Singapore government supported venture capital firm SGInnovate. The summit will also have a separate pavilion to exhibit some of the latest innovations in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, from around the world.
