SID Chairman Jose Merino said:
“We at SID (Share Internet Data) Limited are excited in welcoming David Drake on board and look forward to a great collaboration. With the help of such an experienced ICO authority as David, who garnered an incredible 80.5 points score on https://icobench.com/people as of 14 Feb 2018, we are ready to roll-up our sleeves and walk the road to success with all of our Board Advisors and developers in the SID team”.
SID (Share Internet Data) technology, powered by FRINWO, is based on provisional patent-pending intellectual property written by its Chairman, which enables point-to-point and point-to-multipoint crowdsourcing internet and sharing that Internet between smartphones, tablets and other devices of the same SID system. This basic feature inside different products will allow us to bring internet access to a part of the global population which is currently not yet online by obtaining internet access through third smartphone users of the SID community who are sharing their Internet data.
José Merino, Chairman of SID Ltd, said:
¨More than half of some segments of the world´s population still cannot afford Internet access. Enabling free or affordable internet access could lift over 500 million people out of poverty and boost the global economy. We designed SID for that purpose to help a portion of those previous mentioned users no matter their circumstances to be able to get basic internet access through a sustainable sharing economy — business model.¨
With SIDs recently released app, available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, SID aims to create a global Internet access boom. The app increases the internet connectivity by:
● Automatically connecting to the hundreds of thousands Wi-Fi Hotspots all over the world which SID users – Wi-Fi owners´ themselves add to the SID App to share with the SID community.
● Automatically and securely connecting SID smartphones between them and through the SID smartphone internet host to the internet through any nearby SID enabled device.
SID is currently free to use and will soon be activating its interface to a blockchain technology which will then allow its SID users to get Internet access by trading crypto-tokens for megabytes offered by nearby users. Users will be able to buy crypto-tokens to consume on the SID network globally BUT those less fortunate in society that can´t afford even 1 cent will be able to obtain SID crypto-tokens in exchange for consuming advertisement or through a token sale which will take place later this year.
Although pricing has not been set and carved in stone yet, the current thinking goes along these lines: To allow ad consumption to obtain one or more SID crypto-tokens with an equivalent fiat value of 1 cent of $US/€/£ for which a user can then pay other users to consume in the order of 10 Megabyte of other users internet data per token.
SID´s technology, powered by Frinwo, can also be integrated in 3rd party applications via a commercial license. SID´s R&D centre Frinwo´s first license partner is Dunkin Donuts franchise for Spain called Dunkin Coffee; “home of the best 100% Arabic coffee and the original Dunkins”. Dunkin Coffee App, which already has 250,000 app downloads, and over 91,000 active monthly users, has been already upgraded with “SID powered by Frinwo” inside its app enabling automated Wi-Fi connections in all their stores and even allowing, secure automatic Wi-Fi sharing between the app users whenever they are connected to WiFi network of the Dunkin Coffee chain of stores nationwide in Spain.
Karina Castillo, Marketing Director of Dunkin Coffee Spain said:
“It´s been a pleasure working together with SID´s R&D team Frinwo in Spain. We are delighted with the results of our internet sharing technology which is bringing more visitors in our stores. Now Dunkin Coffee customer’s don´t need to order at the counter and then ask for the store´s Wi-Fi password or finding ways to find coverage in blind spot. Now it´s simple, because they´d only need to download our App. Every Android user and our App users can auto-connect, while iPhone users can have it with just one click. When consumers visit any of our stores they have Wi-Fi signal even before they order their coffee… and they´d be also able to share internet amongst them which simply seems like magic!!!”.
Chairman of SID ltd, Jose Merino said:
Quote “More licensing deals like the one with Dunkin Coffee are likely to come about which hopefully will help us in getting a head-start in getting step by step closer to achieving our key SID company mission, through a sustainable business, namely: To lift as many people out of poverty as possible, by means of giving those less fortunate Users a way to access free internet through nearby smartphones Users who Share Internet Data with other Users”.
This mission can only be achieved with a sustainable business model and also requires the clarification of a misconception, namely that the “less fortunate or poorer” are only in developing or 3rd world countries; we at SID believe that they are everywhere, even in the 1st developed economy as the United States or even Europe there are “poor” people that can´t afford internet and they are in the millions. So, when we say the “less fortunate or poorer” we mean in every continent of the globe, developed and developing countries alike.” Un-Quote.
This is backed by a 5/19/2017 press release with the title “A Trump FCC advisor’s proposal for bringing free Internet to poor people”.
